The Best Poker Rooms

Live It Up In The Best Poker Rooms

When it comes to poker rooms, it is fair to say that the average poker player is not spoiled for choice. There are not enough hours in the day to go through all the different poker rooms on offer with big names fighting small niche sites to provide the best value for their punters. It can be easier for the big sites to gain interest and attract punters to their site but this doesn’t mean that they will offer the best service. The issue of best poker rooms can be a very subjective matter and what is right for one poker player may be very wrong for another.

It is easy to see why so many poker players choose the big online poker sites. There is a level of respectability and reliability that comes with using the big names. Online safety and security should always be an important issue for poker players and many players just feel more comfortable using a brand name that they believe in. If this sounds ideal for you, just have a quick look for the top poker sites and choose from that selection of firms. These are the poker sites that are able to offer the biggest prizes and the biggest incentives to join up.

Do you want a comfortable poker experience?

However, feeling like a small fish in a massive pond is not the online poker experience that every player wants to have and this is why the smaller and niche poker sites can be attractive for some players. It may be that the best poker bonus will be for a smaller site that allows players to develop their skills over time. Even though online poker is hugely successful, many people are new to it and they may want to improve their skills before jumping headfirst into events, tournaments and satellite events.

Pick up poker tips

A site that takes the time to explain the rules and offers tips to players may be a better choice for someone looking to improve their skills. There is no doubt that people can struggle when they sign up for a poker site because there are so many things to think about and learn. If you don’t know the difference between Texas Hold ‘Em and Omaha Hi Lo, it may be best for you to find a poker site that will help you develop at a steady pace. Over time players will know when they are ready to take on the world at poker but in the initial stages, it is always best to develop a confidence.

It is impossible to convey the variety of poker rooms in a short article and it is helpful for a player to have a look at poker sites and see what they have to offer. First impressions can sometimes be misleading but if there are certain bonuses, certain prizes or certain games that you are looking for, it is better to find a poker site that offers what you are looking for. The fact that there are so many poker sites to choose from means that there will be a few to suit your moods.

Mer Brit Poker Profile

February 25, 2011 :: Posted by - admin :: Category - poker news

Mer Brit – latest Team Pokerstars Online girl

Mer Brit is a relatively unknown high stakes tournament grinder. She used to be a cash games player exclusively, but made the transition to tournaments once she realized how easy they were to beat online. Mer started playing poker around 2007, and so far has made over 2,500,000 playing online tournaments – almost as much as Vanessa Rousso has earned in her entire career. Bet you didn’t see that coming?

It’s true. Mer plays online at both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker under the cute screenname peachymer, and is currently ranked 215 according to PocketFive’s ladder. Her biggest internet cash so far was in Pokerstars’ $109 No Limit Hold ‘Em Turbo event from two days ago, where she managed to secure a 2nd place finish for a $98,946 prize. Mer has also had a few great appearances in Full Tilt Poker’s $1k buy-in Monday tournaments, including a 3rd place finish on August 23rd 2011, worth $46,575.

Mer Brit currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, and is a Psychology and Biology college student with exceptional results. Prior to becoming a poker pro, she used to spend most of her time riding horses, both in races as well as various animal shows. Mer was introduced to poker around the year 2007 by a former boyfriend who, at the time, was a pro poker player as well. Mer quickly found herself immersed in the game and, surely enough, reached the Super Nova status on Pokerstars within two years time. One of her trademarks is that she prefers not to use any Heads Up Display software when playing tournaments, as she believes this to be a distraction; instead, Mer prefers to trust her own observations at the table and make decisions based on them. It definitely seems to be working out for her so far.

Mer Brit’s interest in poker also resulted in the development of another of her passions – photography. As soon as she had enough Frequent Player Points on Stars, she bought a Canon Rebel camera at the PS store, and has taken a ton of great pictures during her travels, many of which are available on her public personal blog.

Unfortunately, Mer hasn’t had any notable live tournament appearances so far – she prefers to play in the comfort of her own home, with a candle burning and classical music playing in the background (for real). This will hopefully change now, what with her becoming a Pokerstars Online Pro on February 9th this year.

Just like Liv Boeree, Mel Brit considers herself a tomboy, and loves to participate in outdoor activities such as fishing, bungee jumping, white water rafting and snowboarding, among a few others. It would seem that the most successful poker girls have one thing in common: they enjoy both a challenge and an adrenalin rush. It makes you wonder; does the same rule apply for male poker players, as well?

After coming in fourth-place in two World Poker Tour (WPT) tournaments and second in another, Bodog.com Poker Pro David Williams can cross yet another poker milestone off his bucket list – winning a WPT event. Best of all, of all the WPT events to win, William’s took down the most prestigious, the WPT World Championship, held at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas this past week.

From the start of the tournament Williams’ was feeling good about his chances, so much so that in a post-victory interview with WPT.com, he said of his friends and family: “I told everybody to come down… I said I’m going to win today and I want everyone to be here with me and to experience it.” Sure enough, win he did, and he did so while his mother lead a huge cheering section of his closest friends and family, including fellow Bodog.com Poker Pro Evelyn Ng.

William’s is no stranger to the Poker spotlight, having played in the biggest poker tournaments around the globe and some of the most popular Poker TV shows in the industry, but Williams’ truly cemented his status as one of Poker’s elite at the 2006 WSOP* where he won his first bracelet. Make this year your year. Qualify for the World Series of Poker* through Bodog.com and you could be on the fast track to Poker superstardom.
